Bengals star Ja’Marr chase harassed on plane by fan seeking autograph

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has cemented himself as one of the biggest stars in the modern day NFL.

The former LSU WR was drafted by the Bengals with the No. 5 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft and he immediately thrived at the next level.

In his first season in Cincinnati, Chase hauled in 81 catches for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns. His instant NFL success earned him Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. Chase’s dominant first year in the NFL also helped the Bengals make an unprecedented run to the Super Bowl, where they ultimately fell to the Rams.

Since that heartbreaking loss, the Bengals have faced some major ups and downs, particularly with QB Joe Burrow battling injuries and having to sit on the sideline for a major portion of his tenure as the starting signal caller. His 2023 season was cut short to a wrist ligament tear, and a 2025 turf toe injury required surgery and him stepping away from the team during the season. These, along with MCL sprains, a dislocated finger, and a calf strain, have required Burrow to miss significant time with the Bengals.

And yet still, no matter who is playing quarterback, Chase has dominated as arguably the top wide receiver in the NFL. He’s had at least 100 catches and more than 1,2000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns the last three-consecutive seasons.

He took his game to another level in 2024, finishing the year as the NFL leader in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708), and touchdowns (17).

Chase has made the Pro Bowl in all five of his NFL seasons and last March, inked a four-year, $161 million extension with the Bengals making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history at the time.

Bengals star Ja’Marr Chase harassed by autograph hound on flight in bizarre scene

So with all of his early success, it’s no surprise Chase is one of the more popular players in the NFL.

According to a video making the waves on TikTok, Chase was trying to keep a low profile on a flight when an autograph hound began harassing him as everyone exited the plane.

“Everybody say hi to Ja’Marr Chase on your way out,” the man yells while filming Chase who is clearly uncomfortable”

“He don’t sign autographs though,” the man mutters to the woman sitting next to the NFL star.”

Finally at the end of the interaction, the Bengals star looks up with an annoyed face and the man appears to start laughing and saying “I’m sorry.”

Regardless, it was a a bizarre interaction all the way around and a reminder of what these NFL players go through in their daily lives.
