Man Utd 'really like' 18-year-old wonderkid dubbed the Ecuadorian Erling Haaland - Opinion

Manchester United have often been in the South American market for youngsters under Ineos’ rule, and now Juan Angulo looks set to become the latest target for the Red Devils.

This link fits perfectly into Manchester United’s recruitment strategy over the past few years, with talented youngsters from around the world being signed for cheap.

Diego Leon was signed from Paraguay last summer, arriving as one of the most exciting players of his age group, and in his debut season has shown glimpses of that ability and potential.

This summer, United are going to welcome Cristian Orozco from Colombia as he joins in July. Now, rumours suggest that Juan Angulo will join these two as the latest South American talent.

Manchester United now considering a move to sign Juan Angulo

Interest in signing Angulo comes, according to Ben Jacobs, who has told The United Stand of the interest in the Ecuadorian striker.

According to the journalist, United really like Angulo and are keeping an eye on his situation ahead of this summer, along with a host of other European sides.

This is because Angulo is set to depart his club, Independiente del Valle, this summer, and so interested parties are lining up.

Everything you need to know about Juan Angulo

Juan Riquelme Angulo is an 18-year-old striker from Ecuador currently playing for Independiente del Valle in the LigaPro Serie A back in his home nation.

Born in San Lorenzo, Angulo has found his breakthrough 320 kilometres away in Sangolqui, where he is emerging as Independiente’s next top talent.

At just 18, Angulo has already played four senior games this season from a possible seven, scoring once in his 88 minutes so far.

Standing at 6ft 4in tall already, Angulo has the physical tools to succeed in the Premier League. But despite his height, he is extremely mobile and quick, making him a real handful, with comparisons to Erling Haaland persisting over the past few years.

Barcelona were once very keen on Angulo, and are sure to be interested this summer, meaning United have a fight on their hands.
