Former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has emerged as the frontrunner to succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, with a 60% chance that he will leave at the end of the season.
Enzo Maresca‘s time at Chelsea remains a what could have been. In just 18 months, he delivered the UEFA Conference League and a historic FIFA Club World Cup title, finally bringing the sucess that the BlueCo project has been craving.
However, his departure has left a void that Liam Rosenior has struggled to fill. Since Maresca’s exit, Chelsea’s consistency has plummeted, and there are already calls for another manager.
Interestingly, Maresca is now widely viewed as the heir to the throne at Manchester City, with a 60% chance he succeeds Pep Guardiola this summer.
Clearlake will NOT sell Chelsea, they are prepared to buy out Todd Boehly and increase their stake even more 💰

Enzo Maresca on course to replace Pep Guardiola
On TalkSPORT’s Premier League All Access podcast, Alex Crook says it’s a ‘tap in’ for Maresca to get the City job when Guardiola goes.
“If he goes, it’s pretty much a tap in that Enzo Maresca will be the heir to the throne.
“I think Vincent Kompany may have been the number one choice, but he’s shrewd enough to wait and be the successor to the successor, if you like. And obviously he’s doing very well at Bayern Munich.
“So if I was a betting man speaking to people close to the football club, journalists who cover the club on a regular basis, I’d say 60% Guardiola leaves at the end of the season.”
Say Chelsea can only strengthen in one position this summer, which ONE would you choose?👀

Chelsea fans still want Enzo Maresca
Despite having Liam Rosenior at the helm, Chelsea fans made their feelings clear on Enzo Maresca, asking him to come back and return on his latest Instagram post.
Even Enzo Fernandez has made comments about Maresca’s departure since.
“I don’t understand it either. Sometimes, there are things that we as players don’t understand, how and in what way they try to manage things. Obviously, it was a departure that hurt us a lot because we had an identity. He gave us an order, even though, as is the way of Football, sometimes it’s good and bad.
“But he always had a very clear identity when it came to training and playing, and obviously, his departure hurt us a lot, especially in the middle of the season; it cuts everything short.”
