The New England Patriots' QB depth chart is a bit thin at the moment.
Drake Maye is atop it, of course, but they let Josh Dobbs walk this offseason. That leaves just Tommy DeVito behind Maye.
It would make sense for New England to find another quarterback somewhere this offseason, and this month's NFL Draft could have some late-round options.
One of those is Jalon Daniels, and the Patriots are expressing interest in him. He's on a "Top 30" visit to New England, showing they want to get a closer look at what he can do and who he is as a person.

Daniels spent his entire career at Kansas, where he helped turn the Jayhawks into a more competitive program.
His best season was his final one, this past fall. He threw for 2,531 yards (62.1% completion) and 22 touchdowns compared to just seven interceptions.
He also ran for 404 yards and four touchdowns.
Daniels had also been great in the 2022 campaign, with a 66.1 completion percentage, 18 passing touchdowns and seven rushing TDs.
The Patriots made a point to re-sign DeVito this offseason, so they probably feel comfortable with him as a backup to Maye. But it makes sense to add another QB, and Daniels has some promising development potential.
Some mock drafts don't even include Daniels, so the Patriots wouldn't have to reach too high to get him. And they're obviously a franchise that has had success with late-round QBs before.
