The Indianapolis Colts announced on Friday Morning that Kenny Moore, their pro bowl cornerback, has been placed on the trade block. The 30-year-old has been with the Colts since 2017 and developed into one of the biggest voices for that team both on the field and in the locker room.
The news has been reported to be mutual by both sides. Shortly after the news was announced, one NFL insider revealed what Moore texted him about the trade.

Kenny Moore’s Text After Trade News Leaked To Public
Stephen Holder, an NFL reporter for ESPN, dropped the news:
Text from Kenny Moore II:
“It’s all good. It’s all love.”
No beef between the parties. Partly a scheme fit issue, per source. 2025 rookie Justin Walley will be asked to step up as the slot corner.
Moore is considered to be one of the best slot corners in the NFL. Over the last three years (and missing half of the 2025 season) he recorded seven interceptions, 19 pass break ups, three pick sixes, and 223 total tackles.
It is no secret that Kenny Moore will be able to start for nearly any team who trades for him. Additionally, the trade value for a 30-year-old cornerback who is entering the final year of his deal is somewhere around a day three draft pick (rounds 5-7). There will be an ample amount of teams who will be willing to make that offer.
According to ESPN:
Indianapolis owes Moore $10 million in base salary and per-game bonuses this season, which it would save if he is traded. But that sum likely complicates efforts to trade him as a team would have to take on that salary.
A pre-June 1 trade would save the Colts more than $7 million in salary cap space.
With fellow cornerbacks Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward already on huge contracts, the Colts lead the NFL in salary cap spending at the position in 2026.
Ward said in January that he was contemplating retirement after suffering three concussions last season but told Holder in February that he was reconsidering that position.
This will certainly be a storyline to watch as the 2026 NFL Draft approaches.
