Holding a 61.5% controlling stake, Clearlake remains committed to the long-term BlueCo vision, as per reports. They are brushing aside rumours that the club could hit the market anytime soon.
This effectively closes the door on any exit plans for Todd Boehly for now. He has already explored potential options in the past. The ownership agreement between both parties still stands strong even if talks of tension continue to spread. There is stability at the top, at least for now, which is something the Premier League club have lacked in recent years.
From a financial point of view, Chelsea are one of the biggest spenders in Europe. Since 2022, the English club has spent more than £1 billion in transfers. Despite that heavy investment, results have not matched expectations. The club finished outside of Champions League spots in recent seasons.

Todd Boehly wants stadium upgrade

This moment feels huge because stadium revenue is directly tied to financial fair play of the team. Clubs with larger grounds earn higher matchday income. That said, the money earned can be reinvested into their squads. Top clubs reportedly earn up to 25% of total revenue from stadium operations alone. For Chelsea, closing that gap is vital if they want to fight with the top sides.
However, the club owners are planning for long-term financial security over panic calls. This could change the next phase of their partnership with the team in west London.
