The Los Angeles Rams are coming into the 2026 NFL Draft without too many major needs. While they could use a backup quarterback, for example, it's not such a pressing issue that they have to use their early picks on that position.
But, there is a strong likelihood the Rams will go for a wide receiver with the 13th pick in the draft, barring a star defensive player falling down the board. Further down the board, the Rams are linked to a very interesting prospect.
ESPN's Matt Miller is linking the Rams to the son of Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro linebacker Jeremiah Trotter in Missouri's Josiah Trotter, who, just like his father and older brother Jeremiah Trotter Jr., is a linebacker.
Rams linked to son of Eagles All-Pro LB
"With receiver seeming like an obvious pick at No. 13, linebacker is the most likely direction in Round 2, especially if Josiah Trotter (Missouri) is available," Miller writes.
The Rams could use some linebacker help this offseason, and the draft is a great opportunity to add some help at the position.
While Sonny Styles isn't likely to make it to the 13th pick, Trotter has a decent chance to make it to 61st overall in Round 2 for the Rams.
The son of the Eagles legend, Trotter, would be a fun pickup for the Rams defense beyond the familial ties to the NFL.

This past season for Missouri, he recorded 84 tackles, 43 of which were solo, with one pass defended, two sacks, and 13 tackles for loss. He was also First-team All-SEC, and he started every game for Missouri.
The 6-foot-2, 237-pound linebacker might not be a first-round caliber prospect, but if the 20-year-old could be a great developmental prospect worth adding to the roster near the end of the second round.
Miller only named Trotter for the Rams with their second-round pick, and if they could get the son of the Eagles' All-Pro linebacker, it would be a smart move to add some high upside to the defensive side of the ball.
