Rodgers led the Steelers to a 10-7 record.
The NFL Draft is just two weeks away, and it is still unknown if the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to get future first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers back under center. While the uncertainty might be tough for Steelers fans to deal with, the players and coaches in the building seem to be in a fine mood.
Steelers starting running back Jaylen Warren appeared on Good Morning Football on Friday morning and was asked about the possibility of Rodgers retiring. The veteran believes that whatever happens, everything will be okay for him and the team.

Here is what Warren had to say on GMFB about his quarterback and the possibility of him not coming back to the squad:
“You know, I’m not really expecting anything. Whatever happens, happens. I’m rocking with whoever’s at the quarterback position. But if he comes back, great. If he doesn’t, then we’ll miss him.”

Rodgers’ return could very well be music to the Steelers’ ears. If the four-time MVP decides to run it back for his 22nd NFL season, he will have the opportunity to play once again for his former head coach in Green Bay, Mike McCarthy. While Rodgers was the starter for 11 seasons under McCarthy’s leadership (2008-2018), the Packers made eight consecutive playoff appearances, won five division titles, and ran all the way to a Super Bowl title in 2010. Rodgers’ familiarity with his old head coach could be more than enough to make him come back for one more run.
Last season, while playing for legendary Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, Rodgers recorded 25 total touchdowns and just seven interceptions. Without his steadiness at the position, the Steelers likely would not have won their first division title in five years last season. At 42 years of age, he more than showed why he is arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
Jaylen Warren Had His Best Career Season With Aaron Rodgers Last Year

It has to be noted that Warren had his best season as a pro with Rodgers in the fold this past season. The 27-year-old set career-highs in rushing attempts (211), rushing yards (958), rushing touchdowns (6), first downs (52), yards per reception (8.3), and scrimmage yards (1,291). He was a trustworthy performer while being a part of yet another running-back-by-committee plan. Team MVP Kenneth Gainwell, who is now a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, led the team in receptions despite playing the role of backup running back (73).
Now, Warren will seemingly be a part of yet another running-back-by-committee situation in 2026. The Steelers signed back-to-back 1,000-yard rusher Rico Dowdle this offseason. Of course, Warren also ran alongside veteran running back Najee Harris in the beginning of his career, as well. It will be interesting to see how he handles his new role with a new head coach in place in McCarthy. Plus, if Rodgers doesn’t return, it could be tough sledding for the rest of the offense.
