Eagles Could Trade Up for Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson as Draft Strategy Takes Shape

The Philadelphia Eagles do not sit still on draft night, and history says they won’t start now. When there is a high-upside playmaker within reach, GM Howie Roseman has never hesitated to make a move. And with roster questions quietly building, the timing for another aggressive swing feels right.

This year, that swing could come at wide receiver. Not because the Eagles are desperate, however because they are thinking ahead. That has always been Roseman’s playbook. Stay a year early, not a year late, and one name is now picking up serious traction across league circles.

Jordyn Tyson Emerges As Top Trade-Up Target For The Philadelphia Eagles In 2026 NFL Draft

On April 10, 2026, as per reports, the Eagles could be aggressive in trading up to target Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The Eagles currently hold the No. 23 pick; however, insiders believe a move into the 17-20 range may be necessary to land him.

“Jordyn Tyson is a player to watch… he could still be on the board in the 17–20 range. Howie Roseman is notorious for drafting replacements for veterans a year in advance.”

That last line is the giveaway. This is not a random interest but strategic. Tyson fits the exact mold the Eagles covet. He is 6’2″, physical, and thrives in contested situations. His catch radius stands out. His route running is polished. In 2024, he posted 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns. Even in an injury-hit 2025 season, he still managed 711 yards and 8 scores in just nine games.

Except here is where it connects deeper. There is growing chatter around A.J. Brown and his long-term future with the Eagles. Trade rumors, especially linking him to the New England Patriots, have not gone away after a frustrating 2025 campaign. Drafting Tyson now gives the Eagles flexibility and even insurance if Brown moves and firepower if he stays.

Classic Roseman move. There is also a financial angle. Tyson would come on a rookie deal that matters with Jalen Hurts already on a massive contract. Pairing Tyson with DeVonta Smith creates a younger, cheaper, and dynamic WR duo for the long term.

Still, it’s not risk-free. The 21-year-old’s medical history is a real talking point. He suffered a major knee injury (ACL/MCL/PCL) on November 5, 2022, and dealt with a hamstring injury that limited him late in the 2025 season. He also skipped on-field drills at the NFL Combine and ASU Pro Day, opting instead for a private workout on April 17 to prove his health. That uncertainty could push him into the exact range where the Eagles strike.

And if he is there, then expect phones to light up. Because when it comes to draft-night aggression, the Eagles do not wait. They attack, and Tyson might just be the next calculated gamble in a front office that rarely misses its timing.
