The Browns have brought in offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor for a visit ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft
The Cleveland Browns have done quite a bit of work so far this offseason, but their most important moves have yet to be made. That will change once the 2026 NFL Draft rolls around, as the Browns, armed with three selections in the top 40 picks, are primed to bring some immediate contributors to town.
The crown jewel of Cleveland’s draft haul is the No. 6 overall pick. Many evaluators believe that the front office will bring Ohio State Buckeyes star wide receiver Carnell Tate to town with this selection, but the team also has to figure out what it will do with its other first-round pick (No. 24). Based on the Browns’ latest move, which involves Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor, it seems like their plan may be coming into focus.

One of the top-rated prospects in the draft, the former Crimson Tide All-American is a possibility for Cleveland — who own the No. 6 overall pick.
In 2025, the Browns featured one of the NFL’s top defenses, but this unit was constantly held back by a lackluster offense. Cleveland needs to figure out whether Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, or Deshaun Watson will be starting under center come Week 1, but even then, whoever ends up playing at quarterback is going to need some help around him.
Grabbing a top-tier playmaker like Tate would certainly make sense, but the Browns also need some help along their offensive line. That’s where Proctor, who is fresh off an All-American campaign in 2025 with Alabama, could come into play. At 6’7, 352 lbs, Proctor is a massive human, and after starring at left tackle for the Crimson Tide, he’s one of the top players available at his position.
While Proctor’s physical profile is enticing, he still has a long way to go when it comes to his development. Still, he’s expected to be coming off the board right around when the Browns are set to pick for the second time in the first round. Given their need for help at the tackle position, Cleveland is taking a close look at Proctor, as it brought him to town for a pre-draft visit on Thursday.

Right now, the Browns have Dawand Jones manning the left tackle position for them, but he suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 3 last year. Jones has missed at least six games in all three of his pro seasons, and even when he’s been on the field, his play has been inconsistent at best. As a result, the front office could opt to look for a replacement at this position.
Proctor is among the best offensive linemen prospects in this draft class. It doesn’t sound like Cleveland wants to use the No. 6 pick to address this need, though, so bringing Proctor to town later in the first round could be a shrewd piece of business. The Browns can be aggressive come draft night, but it ultimately wouldn’t be a surprise to see them hold onto this pick and bring Proctor to town when all is said and done.
