After three seasons in America's Dairyland, Dontayvion Wicks is heading east.
The Green Bay Packers are trading the receiver to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick (originally owned by the Atlanta Falcons) and a 2027 sixth-round pick, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday.
Rapoport added that Philadelphia is signing Wicks to a one-year, $12.5 million extension.
Wicks leaves the Packers with 108 career receptions, 1,328 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns logged over three campaigns, a statistical total that peaked in Wicks' first season (39 catches, 581 yards, four touchdowns). He's exiting a crowded receiver room that includes Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and 2025 first-rounder Matthew Golden, a group that welcomed Skyy Moore via free agency and also includes Bo Melton and Savion Williams.

During the NFL's Annual League Meeting in Phoenix last week, coach Matt LaFleur admitted some players weren't content with their roles in his offense in 2025, a season that ended in disappointing fashion when the Packers fell to the Bears in Chicago on Wild Card Weekend. While he didn't name Wicks explicitly, Green Bay's willingness to send him to Philadelphia in exchange for a couple of Day 3 picks suggests it was likely time for both parties to proceed in separate directions, especially after Wicks posted career-low totals in 2025 (30 catches, 332 yards, two touchdowns).
Philadelphia's acquisition of Wicks represents the third instance in the last three years in which the Eagles have traded for a receiver prior to the start of the upcoming season. In August 2024, Roseman added former Commanders first-round pick Jahan Dotson via trade, and nearly one year later, the Eagles general manager acquired John Metchie III in a low-cost deal with the Houston Texans.
Neither are currently on the roster, leaving room for another addition.
Wicks joins a receiving corps in Philadelphia headlined by star wideout A.J. Brown, whose name has been floated in trade talks for months. Also in the room are DeVonta Smith and veteran Hollywood Brown.
The Eagles' trade for Wicks doesn't signal a Brown deal is imminent, but does provide them with insurance at the position prior to the draft. Wicks, meanwhile, finds a fresh start and a new opportunity in Philadelphia, where the Eagles have their own kinks to work out of their offense under new coordinator Sean Mannion.
