SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame safety Adon Shuler has returned for his junior season instead of testing the NFL draft waters.
Shuler finished his sophomore season second on the team with 53 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
The junior said he wanted to finish his degree and return with teammates after Notre Dame missed the playoffs last season.
“Just finishing a degree that close. The team that was coming back talked to coach Free after the playoff situation and the team that is coming back, a lot of starters. So I wanted to do it with my brothers,” Shuler said. “I feel like we didn’t get an opportunity to test the waters in the playoffs. So just run it back.”
Notre Dame is a couple weeks into spring practices. The Irish secondary is expected to be one of the team’s strengths this fall.
Notre Dame’s 2026 Blue-Gold Game will take place Saturday, April 25, at Notre Dame Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
