Depot After Dark: Freiermuth Football Camp, Kuntz Donates To Scholarship, Colts Want To Trade CB

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for April 10.

FREIERMUTH FOOTBALL CAMP

The Steelers’ offense showed flashes of promise last year, but ultimately, it had too many issues to really succeed. One of its biggest problems was Pat Freiermuth’s lack of usage. While Arthur Smith’s system gets tight ends involved a lot, Freiermuth didn’t benefit from that. However, he’ll be looking to bounce back this season.

He’s not letting his down season negatively impact his attitude this offseason, though. He announced on Instagram that he’s hosting a youth football camp on May 17. It will be held at Baldwin High School, which is in Pittsburgh. Hopefully, plenty of young fans can attend.

KUNTZ DONATES TO SCHOLARSHIP

Christian Kuntz is living every Steelers fan’s dream. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to college at Duquesne, a local university. While it took him a few years to get his feet set, he eventually ended up as the starting long snapper for his hometown team. He works hard to give back to others, too.

Steelers Community Relations shared on Twitter that Kuntz donated $10,000 to Jeremiah’s Place and Trying Together bridge scholarship program. It’s Pittsburgh’s only 24-hour crisis nursery, so it’s a more than worthy cause to support.

COLTS WANT TO TRADE CB

The Steelers have been active this offseason, including trading for Michael Pittman Jr. from the Indianapolis Colts. They’re also set to play the Colts this season, which will give Pittman a chance to show off against his former team. While the Colts have also made a lot of moves this offseason, they aren’t done yet.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported on Twitter that the Colts are looking to trade corner Kenny Moore II. He’s been a staple of their team for years, being with Indianapolis since 2017 and making a Pro Bowl in 2021. While it’s unlikely that the Steelers will make a trade for Moore, it seems like they won’t have to face him when they play the Colts.

Sources: Colts and Kenny Moore II mutually have agreed to seek a trade and a new home for the veteran cornerback. Moore is entering the last year of his contract, and both sides feel it is time to explore a trade. pic.twitter.com/VUYpsJDAEX
