Chelsea look set to add Valentin Barco to their squad this summer from Strasbourg, and the youngster is already a big fan of one of his future teammates.
The Blues have assured Barco he will be a crucial part of their project in the future, and had to get a deal done soon if they didn’t want to lose him from the BlueCo project.
A number of top clubs were interested in Barco after he has come into his own at Strasbourg this season, operating as a midfielder as well as a full-back.

Valentin Barco says Alejandro Garnacho has more potential than him
The Argentine will be joining a squad packed with quality young players, and countryman Alejandro Garnacho can be considered in that band.
The incoming Chelsea man was asked by Ezzequiel on TikTok who had the most potential of the future Blues teammates, to which he answered that Garnacho did.

He also named the winger as a player with higher potential than Manchester City’s Savinho, who is set to travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
On paper, Barco looks the perfect complement to Moises Caicedo in midfield, although will face plenty of competition to break into the starting side.
Andrey Santos, Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia are all competing for minutes at the moment, with the former impressing since his own loan spell at Strasbourg.

Strasbourg boss not happy with latest Chelsea deal
Barco is set to join a growing list of players who have made the move from Strasbourg to Chelsea. Mamadou Sarr has already joined the Blues, while Emanuel Emegha is set to make the switch this summer.
This is clearly going to have an effect on the Ligue 1 side, and Gary O’Neil is not happy at the news Barco is making the switch to Stamford Bridge.
It has been a source of mass frustration for Strasbourg fans that they are being treated as a feeder club for the Blues, although there aren’t any signs that process is coming to an end.
The French side can at least feel confident they will still be getting some talented loanees from West London. Mike Penders has made a great impact between the sticks this season.
