Former England defender Glen Johnson has urged Liverpool to consider an ambitious approach for Reece James, but the defender has no intention of leaving Chelsea anytime soon

Johnson’s comments have reignited discussion around Liverpool’s right-side defensive depth, with the former Liverpool and Chelsea defender suggesting that a player of James’ calibre could elevate the team’s tactical flexibility under manager Arne Slot. However, sources close to the situation indicate there is no expectation of a move materialising. Why a Liverpool move remains a fantasy

In reality, while Johnson’s suggestion adds intrigue to transfer discussions, the situation appears clear: James is not for sale, not looking to move, and remains firmly part of Chelsea’s future plans.
