Chelsea are planning a major summer offensive in an attempt to try and help Cole Palmer, as they seek an attacking partnership for the long-term future.
Chelsea‘s stagnation this season could be a result of Cole Palmer being stripped of the offensive partner who once made him unstoppable. Last season, Nicolas Jackson’s selfless movement was the perfect foil for Palmer’s vision, as stretching defences created the central pockets where Palmer thrived.
Without a runner to push defenders back, Palmer has often been forced to drop into deep, non-threatening areas just to touch the ball. This lack of a partner in crime has contributed to his dip in goal contributions, as he no longer has a reliable outlet, despite Joao Pedro’s excellence.
It explains why the hierarchy is now aggressively pursuing Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. They recognise that for Palmer to return to his world-class best, he desperately needs an explosive partner to share the creative burden and restore the balance.

Chelsea want to partner Cole Palmer with Morgan Rogers
TeamTalk claim that Chelsea sees Morgan Rogers as part of a long-term attacking plan alongside Cole Palmer, with the pair viewed as a potentially exciting partnership for the future.
Aston Villa’s current record sale remains the £100 million departure of Jack Grealish to Manchester City in 2021, and insiders believe Rogers is now valued at a similar level.
And while Villa maintain they are not actively looking to sell, there is an awareness of financial pressures linked to UEFA regulations.

Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of Morgan Rogers
Former Chelsea manager and current England boss, Thomas Tuchel, has already given his seal of approval of Morgan Rogers, who he continues to use in the current setup.
Speaking after the win over Wales last year, he said.
“Morgan was excellent like the whole team. He’s very humble, he’s very physical. He has the ability to score and to assist.
“He had a fantastic season (in 2024-25) and was deservedly voted as the young player of the season in the Premier League.
“Morgan was one piece of the puzzle but it is a team effort.”
