Scott 'deserved moment' with goal at Arsenal after excellent performances - Iraola

Scott charged onto a David Brooks pass that was flicked on by Evanilson, and he calmly sent David Raya the wrong way to score Bournemouth’s second and to make it 2-1 to the Cherries at the Emirates.

The goal came with 15 minutes to go and it proved to be the winner, as Iraola’s side kept the Gunners at bay and came away with the three points to extend their Premier League unbeaten run to a club record 12 games.

Scott has been a central part of the Bournemouth side this term, and earned his first England call up in November, but he was left out of the most recent squad.

Performances like his against the Gunners will certainly help his chances of breaking back into the Three Lions squad for this summer’s World Cup.

Asked about Scott’s performance, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I think he deserved this moment of scoring the goal, celebrating in the corner with the fans, receiving the recognition that he deserves.

“He has been playing, not just lately, I think consistently all the season at a very, very high level.

“And I am sure these goals in this situation, in this moment, will help him receive back a little bit of this recognition that he fully deserves.”
