Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool in talks with Spanish defender’s agents

Arsenal suffered a huge blow in their pursuit of the Premier League title as they were beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth at The Emirates on Saturday.

The Gunners had lost two of their previous three matches across all competitions ahead of the game, but had returned to winning ways against Sporting CP in the Champions League in midweek.

Eli Kroupi Jr put the visitors ahead early on, though, before Viktor Gyokeres drew the league leaders level from the penalty spot.

The Cherries went back in front through Alex Scott in the second-half, though, and Andoni Iraola’s side held on to secure all three points and inflict a damaging defeat on Mikel Arteta’s team.

Arsenal remain nine points clear at the top, but second-placed Manchester City have two games-in-hand and also welcome the Gunners to The Etihad later this month.

Away from the action, though, it has emerged that Arsenal are one of several Premier League sides interested in a La Liga full-back.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been contacted by the representatives of Celta Vigo star Oscar Mingueza about a possible move this summer.

Mingueza joined Celta Vigo back in 2022 after his contract with Barcelona expired, and he has played 138 times for the club across all competitions since joining.

The full-back’s contract with his current side is set to expire at the end of the season, though, and the report claims that several Premier League sides are showing interest in the player.

While Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City have been approached by the player’s representatives, Tottenham Hotspur have also been contacted.

Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Everton have all also been monitoring the player for some time, the report claims.

Arsenal and Man City are said to be particularly interested in the Spaniard, with his experience and and strong technical ability making him an ideal candidate to bolster their respective squads.

His availability as a free transfer this summer will likely only enhance interest in the player.
