Chelsea regret as Axel Disasi is now better than Liam Rosenior for one stat

Chelsea loanee Axel Disasi is enjoying a rejuvenating season since joining West Ham in January, although has in turn given a painful reminder to the Blues about their struggles under Liam Rosenior.

Rosenior brought Disasi back into first team training straight after he joined the club, however did not give him an opportunity to feature for the Blues before he moved to their London rivals.

The Frenchman has won over fans at the London Stadium, with captain Jarred Bowen praising Disasi for the impact he has made since joining.

Axel Disasi has more clean sheets at West Ham than Chelsea have under Liam Rosenior

Since starting against Burnley, he has played every minute of eight consecutive Premier League games, helping contribute to four clean sheets in that time, including the latest in a 4-0 win over Wolves.

In the 10 Premier League games since Rosenior took charge at Stamford Bridge, the Blues have just one clean sheet, which came in his first game in charge against Brentford.

Even when it comes to all competitions, the Blues have only managed clean sheets against Pafos, Hull City and Port Vale, while Disasi can boast a clean sheet in the FA Cup against Burton Albion.

The boss has not been helped by a number of injury issues at the back, and is yet to have the chance to see Levi Colwill in action after his long-term injury woes.

Trevoh Chalobah has joined him on the treatment table of late, and is not fit himself ahead of their crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City this weekend.

Wesley Fofana is in desperate need to find some form after his own fitness woes seem to have abandoned him, but the opportunity is there for a number of their young stars to make an impact at a crucial time of the season.

Josh Acheampong and Mamadou Sarr both have exciting futures ahead of them, but would ideally not be thrown into the starting side for games of this magnitude.

Experienced stars are what the manager is asking for ahead of next season, although Rosenior will be well aware of how Disasi is performing after the club decided he wasn’t good enough to feature for them.
