The New York Jets are one of the teams that fans across the NFL are keeping close tabs on as the 2026 draft draws near. Armed with two first-round picks, the Jets appear set to add several impact players to their team in the near future, and given the state of their roster, it’s incredibly important that they nail as many of their early picks as possible in this draft.

There’s a lot of intrigue surrounding New York’s decision-making process with the No. 2 overall pick, but the front office also needs to have a plan for the No. 16 selection. With that in mind, the Jets recently brought a guy who could potentially be taken with their second first-round pick, Washington Huskies wide receiver Denzel Boston, into town for a visit ahead of the draft.

Heading into the draft, the Jets have needs at pretty much every position on their depth chart. That includes wide receiver, even though Garrett Wilson is still in town for the time being. While Wilson is a star, there isn’t a ton of help behind him, even though Adonai Mitchell flashed his potential down the stretch of the season.

That could make Boston, who is one of the top wide receivers in the 2026 draft class, an option for New York at the No. 16 overall pick. Boston has starred for Washington over the past two seasons, and he earned All-Big Ten honors in 2025 after he caught 62 passes for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns.

A big-bodied wideout who typically lines up outside the numbers, Boston could be a great complement for Wilson, whose silky-smooth route running makes him a threat at all three levels of the field. The Jets are certainly contemplating drafting Boston, as they have reportedly brought him to town for a visit ahead of the draft, as they continue to devise their plan for when they find themselves on the clock.

Where Boston will end up getting selected in the upcoming draft is one of the bigger questions evaluators have. Some folks think he could end up coming off the board in the middle of the first round, while others believe he could fall to the end of the first. With that in mind, taking Boston at the No. 16 overall pick could be viewed as a rather aggressive move by New York’s front office.

Considering how many needs the Jets have, they will likely be looking to take the best player available with both of their first-round picks. With that being said, it’s tough to say that Boston will fit that label when New York is on the clock for the second time in the first round. Unless New York trades down from the No. 16 pick, it likely wouldn’t make much sense for it to select Boston this early in the draft.
