The former undrafted free agent has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession.
The Cowboys did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Bell’s arrest comes more than a year after he signed a $9 million, three-year extension with the Cowboys. He appeared in all 17 games for Dallas last season, totaling 41 combined tackles and his first-career interception.

The NFL’s stance on drug possession has changed in recent years. The league tends to focus more on treatment over suspension, at least for the first time. Initial offenders are typically required to enter a treatment program. If it happens again it could result in a $15,000-$20,000 fine.
After the second offense the player will lose a full-game check every time.
