Lamar Jackson had a poor 2025 season with the Baltimore Ravens. The franchise finished the regular season with an 8-9 record and were second in the AFC North division table. They missed the playoffs, which was the first time they did since 2021.
The poor season has led to much fan backlash and the franchise is now trying to take steps to become competitive again. Jackson has now responded after recent rumors regarding him.
Lamar Jackson posts subtle tweet
Jackson had a poor 2025 season, especially by his standards. The quarterback played in 13 games, and completed 192 pass completions for 2,549 yards and 21 touchdowns with 7 interceptions. He also rushed for 349 yards and 2 touchdowns. The two-time NFL MVP is now facing much criticism which has fueled trade speculations.

Jackson’s five-year, $260 million contract was signed in 2023. His contract was restructured earlier this offseason, reducing his 2026 salary cap hit from $74.5 million to approximately $34.54 million and freeing up around $40 million in cap space. However, this maneuver deferred costs, pushing his 2027 cap number to a projected $84.49 million, which is one of the highest in the league.
Both his recent performance and this financial pressure is now putting much pressure on the team. There are rumors that they will trade him after the 2026 season if results don’t improve. Jackson did not stay quiet, and decided to post a simple message. His tweet read, “Instead of trying to bring me down, ask GOD to bring you up🙏🏾💜🪖 #JESUSCHRISTKINGOFKINGS”.
His tweet was subtle and did not directly address the rumors. Jackson is known to be a devout Christian and often tweets about God and Christian themes. Jackson’s tweet may also have been directly aimed at another NFL player.
Charles Omenihu attacks Lamar Jackson
Recently, Washington Commanders defensive end Charles Omenihu made some comments regarding Jackson on the Speakeasy podcast. He said, “Lamar, honestly, you bring a 5-man rush on him and collapse that pocket, he’ll make a play that isn’t the best for the Ravens.”
He also compared Jackson with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, “The league hasn’t figured out Josh Allen yet. They’ve figured out Lamar Jackson.” Previously in the 2025 season, he talked about how to beat Jackson on the field, “With Lamar, I think you just gotta harass him. Make it uncomfortable for him. You wanna get to his legs.”
Lamar Jackson is facing a lot of criticism and pressure right now, and will have to prepare for the 2026 NFL season.
