A supercomputer has tipped Manchester City to claim the Premier League title by a solitary point - just hours after Arsenal lost to open the door for their rivals.
The Gunners have been in control of the title race for much of the season and, even after their domestic cup wobble, held a nine point lead going into the weekend but missed the chance to extend that to 12. Instead they were stunned by Bournemouth, who dealt them a fifth loss of the season.
City will have been watching on as their hopes of winning a fifth title in six years were greatly enhanced. And the algorithms have now predicted that the title will end up in Manchester - not north London.
That would be huge blow to Mikel Arteta, who has finished second in each of the last three years. In 2023 and 2024 they led up until the business end, only slip up and watch City overtake them.
Guardiola's side have been tipped to end up on 81 points - one ahead of Arsenal. Surprisingly the supercomputer doesn't think City will beat the Gunners next weekend, but it does think Arsenal will draw four of their final six games.

That would see them drop eight points, whilst City have been backed to win six of their final eight games to land another title. It would be Guardiola's seventh since taking charge in England a decade ago.
The Champions League spots and the battle for survival are other major subplots that still need to play out. Manchester United's midseason revival has them in third, where they're tipped to finish, with Aston Villa returning to the Champions League after a fourth placed finish, according to FindSisterSites.

Liverpool and Chelsea are battling for fifth with the Blues tipped to land the all important final Champions League spot. The Merseysiders end in sixth, a massive drop from last season's champion year, and could leave Arne Slot fighting for his job.
At the other end of the table a Premier League ever present in Tottenham sees their top flight days come to an end. Not since the 1970s have they been relegated but, despite a change in manager, Roberto De Zerbi cannot save them and they miss out on survival by three points.
They only pick up five points from their final seven games with Leeds ending in 17th, below Nottingham Forest and West Ham, who land nine points from six games to steer themselves clear of the drop.
Elsewhere Newcastle's disappointing season sees them end in 13th, below arch rivals Sunderland. Brighton also posted an impressive year that saw them end in seventh, only missing out on a Champions League spot by a point.
