Report: Chelsea deny they've made a decision about£40m star's future

Alejandro Garnacho only joined Chelsea last year, signing from Premier League rivals Manchester United.

However, the winger, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in a £40m deal, is already being linked with a move away from west London.

There have been rumours about Garnacho potentially joining Argentine side River Plate this summer.

Chelsea deny they’ve made decision on Alejandro Garnacho’s future

While there is talk of Garnacho leaving Chelsea, with the 21-year-old not an automatic starter under Liam Rosenior, it does not appear that his club have made any decisions on his future yet.

According to BBC Sport, Chelsea are denying claims that they have already decided what they are going to do with Garnacho in the summer.

Garnacho has not made the kind of impact that he was hoping to make at Chelsea, scoring just one goal in 20 Premier League outings this season.

However, the Argentina international has shown glimpses of his quality at times and has registered four assists to go with his sole goal.

In cup competitions, Garnacho has been much more prolific. Across games in the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, the former United star has scored seven goals.

Left wingers who could replace Alejandro Garnacho at Chelsea

If Garnacho does leave Chelsea, he could be replaced by RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande. It was recently reported that Chelsea are ahead of Barcelona in the race for Diomande.

The Ivory Coast international has impressed in Germany this season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 28 Bundesliga appearances.

To replace Garnacho, Chelsea may not actually have to buy anyone. Geovany Quenda is set to join them when the transfer window opens, and he has played some games on the left at Sporting Lisbon in the current campaign.

Vinicius Jr has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but the Real Madrid superstar seems like a very unlikely option. Vinicius Jr does not fit Chelsea’s transfer strategy, which will disappoint the club’s supporters.
