Man United and Arsenal making moves to sign Championship teenager

Arsenal missed out on the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table as they were beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth on Saturday.

After Eli Kroupi Jr had put the visitors ahead at The Emirates, Viktor Gyokeres levelled things up from the penalty spot.

The match looked most likely to end in a draw until 16 minutes from time, when midfielder Alex Scott capped a fine individual performance with a goal that eventually proved to be the winner.

Mikel Arteta’s side remain nine points clear at the top of the table, but second-placed Manchester City have two games-in-hand and also face the Gunners later this month.

In the meantime, though, it appears that both City and Arsenal are interested in a Championship teenager who is attracting significant attention.

As per TEAMtalk, both Manchester City and Arsenal are among the numerous Premier League sides plotting moves for Leicester City teenager Jeremy Monga.

The report claims that more than half of the teams in the top flight are considering summer moves to sign the 16-year-old winger, who has featured 28 times for the Foxes so far this term.

Monga made his senior debut for Leicester in a Premier League defeat against Newcastle United last year at the age of 15, and soon after he committed his future to the club by signing scholarship terms despite interest from elsewhere.

It appears that interest had not abated, though, with Manchester United also said to be interested in the youngster.

Monga has scored once and provided two assists in 35 games for Leicester to date, but it appears that the Foxes may face a battle to keep hold of the winger beyond this summer, particularly if they suffer relegation to League One.
