Manchester United have been linked with a host of managers ahead of the summer, and there's one standout candidate from the names they've been linked with in recent months.
Michael Carrick is currently in charge of the Red Devils, but he might only have a few months left in the dugout.
The former United midfielder is only on a deal until the end of the season, but after an impressive spell in charge since joining to replace Ruben Amorim in January, there's a chance he's offered the job on a permanent deal.
Where United turn remains to be seen, but it's an incredibly important decision for the club to make, with the appointments of Erik ten Hag and Amorim proving costly over the last few years.

Man Utd Hold Talks for Carrick Upgrade
Manchester United caretaker boss Michael Carrick claps the fans
According to a report from Football Transfers, Manchester United are one of the sides who have held talks with former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso ahead of the summer.
Alonso is yet to make a decision on where he goes next, with the report claiming that United are one of five teams who have been in contact with the manager.
United are yet to decide whether to offer Carrick a permanent deal, but if a manager like Alonso is available, you simply have to go for him.
The 44-year-old would be a huge upgrade on Carrick, regardless of the job the latter has done at Old Trafford this season.
Alonso has a lot more pedigree at the highest level, whereas Carrick is yet to even manage in European competitions during his short career.
Alonso Over Nagelsmann

United have also been linked with a move to appoint Nagelsmann in the summer, who is currently in charge of the German national team for the World Cup.
Nagelsmann is yet to manage in the Premier League, meaning he could be a risky appointment for the Red Devils.
Although Alonso hasn't managed in England, he spent a large portion of his career there as a player, and he knows what it takes to play in the Premier League.
Alonso, described as 'elite', went a whole season unbeaten in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, and that achievement alone is enough for United to pick him over Nagelsmann.
