Arsenal will reportedly sack Mikel Arteta if they end the season trophyless once again, with one name already identified as a potential replacement.
The 44-year-old’s current contract at the Emirates runs until the summer of 2027, and recent reports claim Arsenal have already opened initial discussions to tie the Spaniard down to a new deal.
However, the current focus at the club is to finish the season as strongly as possible, with both the Premier League and the Champions League still within reach.
Now, a fresh report from Spain has provided a major update on Arteta’s future.

It is also understood that the Gunners have already identified their main candidate to replace him: Como manager and former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fàbregas.
Since joining Como as head coach in the summer of 2024, the 38-year-old has made significant progress, guiding the club from Serie B to the Italian top flight, Serie A.
Como, who currently sit fifth in the table, are now competing for the European places and could even secure a remarkable Champions League spot for next season.
