Kieran McGeeney did not hold back when revisiting Armagh’s now infamous training camp experience at Carton House following their dramatic win over Tyrone.

But speaking to Off The Ball after the game, Kieran McGeeney returned to the issues surrounding their disrupted training camp, and made it clear the experience has not been forgotten.

We’re very disappointed that what people would regard as a five-star resort would have treated us with the contempt that they did.

They lied to us, telling us that we would have a pitch, and then they lied to us about saying that they’d line it out and to try to keep us there.

Armagh had travelled to Carton House for a planned training camp, only to find the facilities not prepared for Gaelic football, with pitches instead lined out for soccer ahead of Manchester United’s upcoming visit.

Leading 0-8 to 0-4 at half-time, Armagh struggled to pull clear and needed a strong impact from Oisín O'Neill off the bench, with the substitute scoring 0-4.

Tyrone, driven by a huge performance from Conn Kilpatrick, forced extra time thanks to a late Ben McDonnell goal, but Armagh found the decisive score through McCormack.

They had to play extra-time with 14 men after Darragh McMullen was sent off late on in normal time, but still held out as Niall Morgan’s late ’45 drifted narrowly wide.
