Fabrizio Romano shares Chelsea's stance on Liam Rosenior after Man City loss

Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on the future of Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior.

Rosenior oversaw yet another defeat as Chelsea boss after watching his side lose 3-0 to Manchester City on Sunday.

It was their third consecutive loss in the Premier League after previously being beaten by Everton and Newcastle United.

Chelsea still backing Liam Rosenior despite third consecutive Premier League loss

While Chelsea supporters are starting to run out of patience with Rosenior, the club are continuing to back the 41-year-old.

According to Romano, Chelsea are still putting their trust in Rosenior despite another defeat and risk of missing out on Champions League qualification.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian journalist said: “At the moment, the message coming from Chelsea even after a bad defeat against Manchester City is that they want to trust this manager.”

Here on The Chelsea Chronicle, we recently ran a tournament on TalkingPoints to determine who fans want to see become the next Blues manager.

John Terry and Cesc Fabregas reached the final, with the latter winning the final vote. You can have your say on Chelsea’s manager situation by commenting below:

FINAL: Who do YOU think should be Chelsea manager next season?

Against City, Rosenior was frustrated with his Chelsea players in the first half after watching them be careless in possession. Simply put, some of the team’s players are really not helping their boss right now.

Chelsea’s last five Premier League games under Liam Rosenior

Chelsea’s loss to City means they have now won just one of their last five Premier League fixtures.

They beat Aston Villa 4-1 at the beginning of March, but lost 2-1 to Arsenal before that match. Since then, they have lost 1-0 to Everton, 3-0 to Newcastle and now 3-0 to City.

It has left them in sixth place in the Premier League table and four points behind Liverpool, who occupy the final Champions League spot.

At this point, it would be a surprise if Rosenior’s side did end up finishing in the top five. Chelsea still have to play Liverpool, but with the form that they are in, there is almost no chance of this team winning at Anfield.
