Fabrizio Romano drops huge update on Man Utd target with agent talks and player "ready"

Manchester United target Marcos Senesi has rejected interest from top sides in Europe and wants to join a Premier League club this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Senesi is set to leave Bournemouth as a free agent this summer despite an impressive campaign with the Cherries.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are all believed to have been in contact over a move in recent weeks, with the Argentina international expected to choose his next club soon.

Senesi joined Bournemouth from Feyenoord in the summer of 2022 and has scored six goals across 122 appearances in all competitions.

In his prime at 28 years old and now a fully fledged international, the centre-back will be one of the hottest names on the market when his contract expires this summer, and Romano has revealed some very good news for the English clubs in the race.

The reporter revealed on his personal YouTube channel that the defender is rejecting interest from abroad - namely from La Liga and Serie A.

This is because he wants to stay put in the Premier League, with his agent speaking to clubs and the player now "ready" to make the next step in his career.

"Despite proposals from Italy, for example Juventus were interested, and some calls from Spain, he wants to stay in the Premier League.

"So Senesi will leave Bournemouth in the summer transfer window as a free agent, he's not going to sign a new deal at Bournemouth and he's ready to make his move in the summer transfer window.

"And now his agents are talking to Premier League clubs."

The new Bruno Fernandes could be on his way to Manchester United.

While Romano did not confirm United are one of the clubs in talks, the Red Devils have been one of the most heavily linked names in the race for the 28 year-old's signature.

Senesi's strengths and weaknesses

The Bournemouth centre-back is best known for his ability to break lines with his long passing, forming a key part of Andoni Iraola's philosophy at the Vitality Stadium.

A left-footed centre-back but comfortable on either side, the 3-cap Argentine is extremely physical, averaging over a foul per game and picking up eight yellow cards in the league this season.

United are set to sign two new midfielders this summer, so signing a Premier League proven player in defence for free could be extremely beneficial to their squad planning.
