Rivals will spend, so it’ll be vital for Everton to not be left behind.
In recent weeks, Everton have been linked with Arsenal duo Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly, who have both struggled for minutes this season.
White in particular has been struggling of late.
And Jamie Carragher’s latest verdict on him last night might have Everton thinking twice about any summer move.

At the weekend, Arsenal suffered a shock defeat to Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium.
They won 2-1, and the Cherries’ win is not good news for Everton in the hunt for European football.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
White and Lewis-Skelly both started for Arsenal, but they fell short of the standard required – and the pair were picked out for criticism by Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football.
In a potential warning to Everton, he said: “The right winger and the right-back switch off because of the body position of Ryan Christie there.
“He then does a lovely little turn in that position. Madueke lets him go. Ben White doesn’t even know he’s there. The reason you know Ben White doesn’t know he’s there is, he’s only just seen him and he’s already looking back at Madueke to say ‘This is your fault, I didn’t even see him’.
“He doesn’t even know he’s there! He hasn’t even touched the ball yet or crossed it into the box! So for me in that situation, yes, it’s his man. But as a right-back, and I’ve been in that position, you know your winger at times will switch off.
“So you have to do two jobs. Your job is here with the winger if he goes inside. But you’ve also got to be careful of that. Because he doesn’t think the way I think. The attacker doesn’t think the way a defender thinks. it’s not just on Madueke. Ben White should be aware of that run also.
“Another problem for them, Lewis-Skelly at the back post. Kroupi is the goalscorer. You can’t get beat to that position where the goal goes in, when you’ve got a five-yard head start. So we’re talking about Ben White not being good enough, and Lewis-Skelly has got to be more aggressive at that back post.

“Maybe they may say I’m being a little bit harsh with the criticism, but this is vital. This is the moment in time for them in terms of winning the Premier League. You can’t afford these mistakes right now.”
With Everton having a reputation for having solid defenders, David Moyes will need to be keeping a close eye on the pair in the coming weeks.
White has been poor for a while now and also struggled on England duty. His lapse against Bournemouth was concerning.
Lewis-Skelly is also not pulling up trees, to say Arsenal want a combined £100 million for him and Ethan Nwaneri this summer.
So there are warning signs at the moment with the Everton targets and Toffees officials must be careful.
