Bayern Munich must sell Chelsea target before signing Josh Acheampong - journalist

Chelsea youngster Josh Acheampong is once again being linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

Back in January, it was reported that Bayern want to sign Acheampong, and it does not look like their interest has gone away.

However, it is thought that the German giants must sell one of their own defenders before they can make a move for the Chelsea player.

Bayern Munich need to sell Kim Min-jae before they can make Josh Acheampong swoop

Journalist Christian Falk has told CfBayern Insider that while Bayern do have Acheampong on their radar, they would have to offload Kim Min-jae first before they can sign the teenage defender.

Interestingly, there has been speculation about Chelsea being keen on Kim in the past.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Chelsea had enquired about signing Kim, so the 29-year-old could be an option for them in the summer.

Kim stands at 6’3″ so is a tall centre-half. Liam Rosenior could have done with his height last Sunday after watching his side concede from another cross in their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Nico O’Reilly’s header was the 12th goal that Chelsea have conceded from a cross in the Premier League this season, putting them in the top five.

Chelsea shouldn’t sell Josh Acheampong to Bayern Munich

Chelsea will have regrets about selling the likes of Marc Guehi and Lewis Hall. Guehi scored against them over the weekend, while there are rumours that Chelsea could look to re-sign Hall this summer.

If the Blues sell Acheampong to Bayern, that is going to leave them with even more regrets.

Acheampong is only 19, but he is already a defender who offers a lot. The England Under-21 international is a versatile footballer with a lot of pace and strength.

Acheampong can play at centre-back or right-back and stands at 6’3″. He is really good at protecting the ball, using his massive frame extremely well. Chelsea selling their academy graduate would be a huge mistake.
