Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign Rennes midfielder Djaoui Cissé this summer.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season, making 22 appearances across all competitions, including 12 starts in Ligue 1.

His progress this season has already attracted interest from several European clubs, with French outlet Media Foot reporting in February that Bundesliga duo Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen were interested in the France U21 international.

Now, the same source has provided a fresh update on Cissé’s future.

Media Foot claims that Arsenal have joined the race for the midfielder’s signature.

It is understood that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta admires Cissé’s profile and potential, as well as his technical ability on the ball.

There is also interest in Cissé from Leeds United, who have already made their intentions clear to the player’s representatives.
