Man Utd Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Kobbie Mainoo&2 Others

**Man Utd boss Michael Carrick says Kobbie Mainoo missed the 2-1 defeat to Leeds due to a knock he picked up in training.**

Speaking about the nature of the injury on Monday evening, Carrick said he was hopeful that the issue won’t keep the player sidelined for “too long”:

“Over the last day or so, Kobbie just had an issue in training, so it seems small but big enough to keep him out tonight.”

“It wasn’t worth the risk, to be honest, so we’re hoping it’s pretty small, and it won’t be too long.”

**Expected Return Date – Saturday, 18th April vs Chelsea (a)**

Patrick Dorgu

-------------

The Denmark international has been back in light training after taking part in United’s mid-season camp in Ireland earlier this month.

However, Dorgu was not in the matchday squad for the [**Leeds match**](https://manunews.com/blog/man-utd-player-ratings-leeds-2/), and unless he is pictured training with the first team squad over the next few days, it’s unlikely he will face Chelsea either.

The winger suffered a serious hamstring injury against Arsenal back in late January, and his estimated recovery time was 10 weeks. However, he has now been unavailable for over 11.

**Expected Return Date -Unknown**

Matthijs de Ligt

----------------

Unlike Dorgu, the Netherlands international was not part of the training camp in Ireland, with Carrick claiming that the defender “isn’t quite” ready to make his comeback.

De Ligt’s recovery from a troublesome back problem has been protracted. He initially sustained the injury after the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in late November.

The centre-back has undergone rehabilitation, but progress has been slow, with no sign that he will return soon.

There is now a genuine chance that de Ligt won’t play again before the end of the season.

**Expected Return Date -Unknown**
