Lamine Yamal has dared Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone to change up his tactics as Barcelona attempt to pull off an epic comeback in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie.
Atleti take a 2-0 lead into the game after pulling off a surprise win at the Nou Camp last week, with Yamal’s attacking prowess nullified by Simeone asking two defenders to follow the 18-year-old wherever he went.

But the Barcelona superstar issued a challenge to the man known as ‘El Cholo’ ahead of the much anticipated return leg on Wednesday AEST.
“Let’s see if Simeone does me a favour and dares to play one-on-one at the back,” Yamal said.
Barca manager Hansi Flick was a bit more measured in his comments, but no less bullish about the need for his side to attack from the outset if they are to overturn the two-goal deficit.
“I believe in my team and I think we can do it – it’s possible,” Flick said. “I know we are up against a strong Atlético side with great players. We have to secure in defence and brave in attack. We have to take our chances as that was the difference in the first leg.”
Simeone was coy in his pre-match press conference, not wanting to give Barcelona any more ammunition ahead of a game that is sure to have plenty of feeling.
”The match, whatever we imagine, is only in our heads for now until the game starts, and obviously, everything we’ve said is left behind,” Simeone said. “Because if we think we’re going to apply pressure just because we’re playing at home and they play better, it doesn’t happen.”
