It is becoming increasingly likely that Chelsea will sign a new midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.
They are being linked with several names, while Enzo Fernandez could depart Stamford Bridge before the start of the 2026/27 season.
Fernandez’s value to Chelsea would have gone up after their defeat to Manchester City. They really missed the midfielder, but he has refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid in the summer.
Would you get rid of Enzo Fernandez this summer?🤔

Chelsea monitoring Lewis Miley
The latest midfielder who is being linked with a switch to Chelsea is Newcastle’s Lewis Miley.
According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea have Miley on their radar and view the 19-year-old as “one of the most promising young midfielders” in England right now.
Despite still being a teenager, Miley has been a key player for Newcastle this season. In total, he has made 31 appearances across all competitions.

In the Premier League, he has scored one goal and provided four assists. The England Under-21 international has also managed to net in the Champions League.
Miley has a lot of potential, but he is unlikely to be the kind of signing that Chelsea supporters want to see this summer. For a long time now, the fan base has been calling for more experienced additions.
Chelsea should prioritise Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton over Lewis Miley
If Chelsea are going to sign a young, English midfielder this summer, it should be Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson or Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.
Both players are a few years older than Miley, but they are still quite young at 23 and 22. It also means that they have more experience than the Newcastle talent, which is what Chelsea need right now.
Anderson and Wharton are not the same profile as Fernandez, who has developed into a goalscoring midfielder. However, they do share some similarities.
Anderson, for example, is good at receiving the ball and is an excellent passer like the Argentine. He would not be a bad player to sign if Chelsea do go on to lose Fernandez.
