Gary Neville had a lot of interesting things to say after Chelsea lost to Man City at the weekend. He’s very unsure about the project, but criticised the two players who spoke out against it as “selfish.”
Cucurella and Fernandez comments “selfish” according to Neville
“You add what I’m going to call the ill-discipline from Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella, who’ve been speaking up in the last couple of weeks.
“When you speak up like they have done, that is entirely selfish because it’s not helping your manager, who’s young and inexperienced. It’s not helping your teammates, it’s not helping the fans because they’re thinking there’s discontent, and in a period where you really needed to knuckle down, you needed everybody to pull together.
There are mixed feelings about the comments from the pair. What’s confusing is that most of us agree with the points the players made about the flaws in Chelsea’s strategy. But the fact we agree with them doesn’t mean we agree it was the right time to say it.
In other news…
Liam Rosenior has admitted he can’t wait until the summer transfer window to fix his team’s resilience problem.
Clearly Rosenior is under “severe pressure” to beat Man U this weekend, and we wouldn’t really fancy his chances.
