Ineos set to open talks to sign "England's Ousmane Dembele" for Man Utd, he's Rashford 2.0 -…

Many people across the globe constantly spend time reminiscing on years gone by, even stating that the time spent as a teenager was the best period in their lives.

The lack of pressure placed on you to provide the goods ultimately allowed you to express yourself and live life with freedom, which often resulted in the best memories.

Such a case was evident with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, who arguably enjoyed his best period at Old Trafford during his teenage years.

The Englishman scored a double on his Europa League and Premier League debuts at the tender age of just 18 - with many fans thinking they had unearthed the next world-class talent.

However, a decade on, the 28-year-old looks set to depart in the months ahead after his loan spell at Barcelona, leaving the hierarchy desperately hunting for their next teenage superstar.

Man Utd ready to make bid for teenage superstar

The United hierarchy have turned their attention to signing young teenage stars in recent months, with a real focus being made to setting the club up for future success.

Colombian midfielder Cristian Orozco has already agreed to join the Red Devils from Fortaleza, with the youngster set to arrive this summer upon turning 18.

A fee in the region of £750k was spent to prise the teenager away from his current employers - a deal that could be a potential bargain should he become a first-team regular.

However, Orozco could be joined at Old Trafford by winger Jeremy Monga, with the board conducting huge work on the 16-year-old over the last few months.

According to TEAMtalk, the Red Devils are ready to make a 'formal approach' for the Leicester City star, who’s already made 25 Championship appearances this campaign despite his tender age.

The report also states that huge work has been conducted by the club to try and lure him away from the Foxes, who could suffer relegation to League One in the weeks ahead.

However, they’re not alone in the pursuit of the England U19 star at present, with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City also wanting to complete a deal.

Why Monga would be Rashford 2.0 for Man Utd

As previously mentioned, Rashford was a player who captured the hearts of the fanbase from a young age, which no doubt brought about a new sense of pressure on the attacker.

The 28-year-old has certainly failed to live up to the early hype he produced during his first season in United’s senior ranks, with the forward spending the last 18 months out on loan.

Whilst he’s registered over a century of goals for the Red Devils, many expected the forward to help catapult the club to Premier League glory - something which is yet to happen.

It could remain a story of what could have been for the Englishman at Old Trafford, especially if Barcelona agree to trigger the option to buy in his current loan deal at the Camp Nou.

Whilst his chapter may be coming to an end, Monga could be the player to fill the void and possibly bear the responsibility of leading the club to top-flight glory once again.

He may be just 16 years of age, but he’s already racked up just shy of 50 senior appearances - even managing to catch the eye massively despite his tender age.

The winger has registered three combined goals and assists so far this term, but it’s his underlying stats that demonstrate his quality with the ball at his feet.

Monga has completed 2.5 successful dribbles per 90 in the Championship, a tally that ranks him in the top 4% of all players in England’s second tier this campaign.

As a result of his talents, he’s been dubbed “England’s Ousmane Dembele” by Ben Mattinson - huge praise indeed, with the Frenchman the current Balon d’Or holder.

The youngster’s talents at the King Power Stadium are further reflected in his remarkable tallies of 84% passes completed, whilst also winning 1.8 fouls per 90 to date.

Both show he’s incredible with the ball at his feet, with the opposition often having to resort to fouling him to prevent him from posing a threat when in flow state.

At the end of his mazy runs, Monga has also delivered a tangible result, as seen with his 33% shot on target rate - helping him net his first senior goal against Preston back in August.

At just 16, there’s no denying Monga is a generational talent, with his next club undoubtedly getting a player who’s destined to reach the very top during his career.

United’s pursuit could see them land his signature this summer, which in turn could allow the club to secure the services of their next Rashford at Old Trafford.

He would likely have the opportunity to step into the senior side and have the chance to emulate his compatriot in thriving at Old Trafford during his teenage years.

However, if he is to be a successful addition, he will need to continue to develop and provide the goods on a consistent basis - something which the academy graduate struggled with in recent years.
