Santos addressed this directly, saying, “We understand the fans are frustrated. We are frustrated too. When you talk about Chelsea, you talk about winning games, which we’re not doing.”
As per EPL stats, the Blues are among the lowest teams in form across the last five games. This includes defensive errors and missed chances costing key points. Their expected goals numbers are good so far. But, their finishing rate has dropped compared to earlier in the season. This shows a lack of sharpness in attack from Rosenior’s team.

Top five race slips as big PL weeks approach
The defeat against Man City has left Chelsea trailing Liverpool by four points in the race for the final UCL qualification spot. That gap feels even bigger considering their current form. This squad was praised earlier in the season for its energy and promise. But, those qualities are now nowhere to be seen.
The Blues have conceded 10 goals in their last five league games. This shows defensive instability that has not been fixed despite tactical changes. Injuries and rotation have played a part, but the bigger issue seems to be confidence. This comes especially when facing stronger and more clinical opponents. The coming weeks could define the club’s entire season. Missing out on a top five finish would likely hurt financially.
