Should Barcelona have been awarded a penalty against Atletico for a foul on Dani Olmo?

The Catalan giants wanted a penalty in the first half when Dani Olmo was pushed in the penalty area by Marcos Llorente.

The Barcelona star went to ground but no penalty was given by match referee Clement Turpin and there was no intervention by VAR either.

Mundo Deportivo’s refereeing analyst César Barrenechea Montero felt the referee hadn’t been able to see clearly what happened: “The referee’s position prevents him from seeing the play clearly. It’s a borderline play. If he had awarded a penalty, nobody would have said a word.”

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick was asked about the refereeing during the game but didn’t want to get into it. He told reporters: “I don’t want to talk about this because it’s something I can’t change. It’s good for you that I talk about it, but I don’t want to.“
