The Blues were very quiet in January, with their only business bringing Mamadou Sarr back from his loan at Strasbourg.

Despite the vast investment in the squad it still lacks quality, and the Blues need to address a number of areas in what’s going to be a critical summer.

Kaveh Solhekol on Chelsea summer plans

According to reports Chelsea are prepared to target players with proven Premier League experience, but until it happens fans will remain sceptical.

The Blues have been linked with Morgan Rogers, although it’s thought any potential deal for the England international could cost in excess of £80m.

Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke is another name Chelsea are said to hold interest in, and Solhekol has now provided an update on their summer plans.

“Chelsea, historically, are always busy in the transfer window, I’m expecting them to be busy again,” he told Sky Sports.

“I think they need to look at the goalkeeping situation. It may well be that instead of signing someone, they bring Mike Penders back from Strasbourg. He’s on loan at their sister club.

“Chelsea need to sign another centre-back as well.

“There’s a general acceptance at Chelsea that they need to sign players who have more character, more personality and players who have experience of playing in the Premier League.”

Chelsea players discuss in a generic group with Joao Pedro.

Rosenior is under growing pressure following a poor run of results, with Chelsea just two points above tenth placed Sunderland.

Failure to beat Manchester United on Saturday night will see that pressure ramp up more and leave Rosenior in a very difficult position.
