"My Situation At Arsenal Has Changed" - First Team Player All But Admits He's Leaving In The Summer

**Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has strongly hinted that he will depart the Emirates at the end of the season.**

The Brazilian was discussing whether he would return to his former club Palmeiras one day when he said that he would assess his options at the end of the season, having seen his game time with the Gunners dwindle:

“My relationship with Palmeiras has always been very good and always will be – I have immense gratitude. My desire is to one day return to Palmeiras and win even more titles, because I’ve already experienced the taste of winning titles at Palmeiras.”

“And it’s something that’s still within me, it’s a very strong desire. I have a contract with Arsenal. Obviously, my situation at Arsenal has changed from what it was before. But my main focus today remains Arsenal, making things happen here, helping in whatever way the manager needs, and then, obviously, when the season is over, we’ll start thinking about it.”

Jesus has started just 2 Premier League games

Since returning from an ACL injury in December, the former Manchester City player has made the starting eleven for just two league matches against Manchester United and Sunderland.

Jesus has also been given one start in the Champions League, and it was undoubtedly his best performance of the campaign, scoring a brace during a 3-1 win over Inter Milan.

Based on the striker’s comments, though, he is willing to play his part as a squad player until the summer, but he will then consider his future.

Arsenal are not expected to give him a new contract

Jesus’s current deal expires at the end of next season, and no discussions have been held over handing him an extension in recent months.

With the Gunners keen on balancing the books to stay within the Premier League’s squad cost ratio rules, the 29-year-old is [**one of 5 players**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-transfer-news-ethan-nwaneri-myles-lewis-skelly-gabriel-jesus-gabriel-martinelli-ben-white/) who the _BBC_ claims have been made available for transfer.
