Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Noah Sadiki, with Spanish outlet Fichajes claiming the North London club have identified the 21-year-old as a potential addition to their midfield.
Sadiki, who has emerged as a standout performer at Sunderland, has impressed scouts across Europe with his blend of physicality, tactical intelligence, and versatility. Although naturally a central midfielder, he has been deployed in several roles this season, displaying maturity beyond his age and earning plaudits for his ball-winning ability and progressive passing.
According to Fichajes, Mikel Arteta is eager to inject fresh energy and dynamism into his midfield ahead of the 2024–25 campaign. With ARSENAL competing on multiple fronts and pushing to remain title contenders, Arteta is said to be targeting players capable of adding depth and adaptability — two qualities Sadiki has shown in abundance in the Championship.
While no formal offer has been reported, interest from a Premier League giant could place Sunderland in a difficult position. The club is known for developing young talent, but they may face pressure if a significant bid arrives, particularly from a team competing at the highest level of European football.
Sadiki’s contract situation is also expected to play a role in negotiations. Although details of his current deal have not been disclosed in these reports, Sunderland would likely demand a substantial fee to part ways with one of their most exciting young assets.
Should Arsenal pursue Sadiki further, the Belgian-born midfielder could represent a long-term project for Arteta. With leadership figures such as Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard already in place, Sadiki would not be expected to immediately command a starting role but could be integrated gradually, similar to the development pathways seen with other young signings under Arteta’s tenure.
Arsenal’s recruitment team has prioritized technically gifted, press-resistant midfielders capable of thriving in high-intensity systems. Sadiki’s performances for Sunderland suggest he could align with these principles, although the leap from the Championship to the Premier League remains significant.
Do Arsenal Really Need Another Midfielder This Summer?
Depth has been a recurring issue. Injuries to Odegaard have disrupted long-term plans, while there has been talks of players eyeing potential moves away from the Gunners . Beyond the established starters, Arsenal lack a young, physical, development-ready midfielder who can be molded into Arteta’s system.
With ARSENAL competing against Manchester City and Liverpool — teams known for deep, experienced squads — reinforcing midfield options could prove decisive over a long season.
Sadiki, if available for a reasonable fee, could represent a shrewd investment rather than an urgent necessity. Arsenal do not need to overhaul their midfield, but strengthening it now may prevent depth-related issues later, and provide long-term continuity as senior players age out.
