Chelsea’s hopes of a Champions League spot at the end of the season are dwindling at best. Yet, all the noise coming out of Chelsea is that Liam Rosenior won’t be sacked if they miss out.
Currently, Chelsea sit in sixth place and have been stuck on 48 points for three games. For the first time in 28 years, Chelsea have lost three Premier League games in a row without managing to score a single goal.
Injuries to Reece James, Levi Colwill, Trevoh Chalobah haven’t helped. Gary Neville thinks the behaviour of Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez will cost Chelsea a Champions League place, as it causes disruption.

But a win against Man United on Saturday changes all that, with Liverpool and Aston Villa playing a day later. Rosenior’s position, meanwhile, is under threat even if Chelsea say they will stick by their manager.
What will make Chelsea sack Liam Rosenior this summer…
A sixth-placed finish will see Chelsea qualify for the Europa League. While Chelsea could lose £300m without Champions League football, the Blues are still in the hunt for silverware in the FA Cup semi-finals.
There are positives, but the tide needs to turn as soon as possible. Speaking on the Chelsea FC podcast, Telegraph writer Matt Law says that if Chelsea fail to qualify for any form of Europe, then the sack is likely.

“Can we anticipate any changes, personnel-wise, if we end up eighth through 10th and no European competitions?”, Law was asked this week. He replied: “Yeah, that comes under the disaster scenario.
“I think that would definitely cause very serious conversations and would definitely put the head coach in peril,” Law said. Chelsea are likely to have drawn up a list of contingencies in case Rosenior is sacked.
Who could replace Liam Rosenior at Chelsea this summer?
Rosenior has now lost as many games as Graham Potter had after 21 games, with eight defeats arriving during Rosenior’s reign. Potter, who is set for the World Cup with Sweden, only lasted 11 more matches.
The noise coming out of Chelsea is that they want to give Rosenior as much as time as they afforded Enzo Maresca. But the noise may grow too loud for Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and Clearlake to ignore.
Frank Lampard has been linked with the Bournemouth job…👀
Would you take him at Chelsea this summer?

Plenty of managers are on the radar. Cesc Fabregas is starring at Como and is a target for Chelsea. The Blues interviewed Filipe Luis in January, and he remains out of work after leaving Flamengo.
John Terry is set to work with Colchester United, while Frank Lampard is unlikely to leave Coventry City. Andoni Iraola is leaving Bournemouth and possibly, he could be targeted. Plenty to consider, then.
