Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford came off the bench as Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League on Monday night, despite beating Atletico Madrid 2-1 at the Metropolitano in Madrid.
Although Marcus Rashford has shown good form in the Champions League this season, the England international was unable to have a positive impact in the quarter-finals as Barcelona lost 3-2 on aggregate against La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona won the second leg 2-1, but were eliminated after losing 2-0 at home in the initial meeting of the two-legged affair.
Rashford still has a lot to play for this season, including a permanent deal at Barcelona. Hansi Flick’s side are also nine points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the league table after 31 matches.

Marcus Rashford has yet to reach the Champions League semi-finals
Rashford has reached the Champions League quarter-finals with three different clubs, but he has never made it through to the semi-finals.
The first time was in 2018/19 with United when Barcelona qualified for the semi-finals at Rashford’s expense.
Rashford reached the quarter-finals again last year, on loan at Aston Villa, when Paris Saint-Germain eliminated Unai Emery’s side.
The latest quarter-final blow came on Tuesday night as Atletico Madrid knocked out Barcelona.
