Harry Amass has been out injured since his first game on loan at Norwich on loan from Manchester United. Now he’s fighting toward his return.
It was exciting when Harry Amass bid Sheffield Wednesday farewell in January, taking a step further up the Championship to Norwich.
But Amass was injured on his debut for the East Anglian side, with Philippe Clement making it sound like a serious issue.
It was a hamstring injury that ruled out Amass, and for recovery, he returned to Carrington, with an outside chance of returning in time to play a role for Norwich at the very end of this season.
Now, he’s shared an update.

Harry Amass shares an injury return update
Amass has been out since late January, which is a massive shame considering how excellent his season was going for Wednesday.
However, he will be back, and now Amass has taken to his Instagram story with an update on his potential return.

Amass’ story saw him pictured with boots on, suggesting he is back on grass training, which would make his return to action not far away.

Whether this is at Carrington or in Norwich, we cannot be sure; however, it is a positive sign regardless, as he should be closing in on a return.
Norwich have four regular-season games left to play this season in the Championship, which could then see play-offs left to play, although it would take a lot of things falling in the Canaries’ favour.
So realistically, Amass has two weeks to get himself fit and match sharp if he wants to play again this season, as he cannot play for United having played for two teams already this season.
If Amass can get back on time, May 2nd could see him face Toby Collyer’s Hull City, before the season truly ends for the young defender.

Amass can replace Luke Shaw for Manchester United
Amass faces a tight deadline to feature for Norwich again, but if he doesn’t, then it means he will return to Carrington and begin working toward pre-season.
Here, Amass could be ready to stake his claim to replace Luke Shaw as the team’s left-back next season, with playing as a regular full-back suiting his game more than the wing-back role under Ruben Amorim.
Amass’ brilliance for Wednesday this season showed that he is more than ready to be playing senior football at a level beyond the Championship.
So, that should see Amass get a second go at breaking through for United and the chance to show what he learned while on loan.
The most important thing is that he gets fit and ready for pre-season, likely under Michael Carrick.
