Manchester United have received further unwelcome news as Harry Maguire has been ruled out of Saturday's fixture against Chelsea.
The FA officially announced on Wednesday that the experienced defender will serve an additional match ban alongside a £30,000 fine for "acting in an improper manner and/or using abusive words towards the fourth official."
This creates a significant headache for Michael Carrick, with Lisandro Martinez also facing suspension for his hair-pulling of Dominic Calvert-Lewin during Monday's 2-1 defeat by Leeds. The United boss will need to reorganise his defensive options ahead of the pivotal encounter at Stamford Bridge.
With just six matches remaining in the Premier League season, supporters will be eager for the side to collect maximum points to secure their place in European competition next campaign. United are currently in the running for Champions League football next season, but they can ill afford any further stumbles in their pursuit of Europe.
Here, has all the latest news emerging from Old Trafford.

Andoni Iraola has confirmed he will be leaving Bournemouth at the end of the season after rejecting offers to extend his contract. United have previously been linked with the Spaniard, with reports indicating the Cherries manager would be receptive to a move.
Should United appoint Iraola, he could potentially lure two of his current Bournemouth players to Old Trafford. The Daily Mail reports that both Marcos Senesi and Eli Junior Kroupi have been "considered" by the Manchester club.
Senesi is due to become a free agent in the summer, making any potential transfer relatively uncomplicated. Kroupi, however, is just 19 years old and remains under contract with Bournemouth until 2030.
The striker's impressive current figures, which include 10 goals this season, have prompted several of Europe's leading clubs to register their interest. SunSport reports that the Cherries are determined to make Kroupi their "first-ever £80million player," meaning United could face stiff competition for his signature.
Jadon Sancho update
Jadon Sancho has been told by Aston Villa manager Unai Emery that it is "too soon" to contemplate a permanent move to Villa Park. The on-loan United winger has contributed four goals and assists during his time in Birmingham and is currently nursing a shoulder injury.

Emery has made clear that the club remain solely focused on matters on the pitch for now. He said: "We are focused 100 per cent on our objective, and to speak about the individual futures doesn't make sense."
Addressing Sancho directly, Emery added: "We spoke a lot during the season with him and me, especially about his task with us, how we need his performance and his qualities.
"But now it is about tomorrow. He is coming back (from injury), and he is a fantastic player, and he needs to be consistent."
Emery commented on Sancho's absence: "It is a pity that he was injured in the last weeks because he finished before the break, fantastic. Now we are playing matches to check everything and to get our objective collectively. Hopefully, we can get the best of him, and this is our challenge as well."
