Bruno Fernandes ruthlessly trolls Man City star over skincare advert

Man City star Bernardo Silva is promoting a high-end skincare brand, but Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes couldn’t let the moment pass without mocking his Portuguese compatriot.

There is a lot to play for in the remaining Premier League fixtures.

Arsenal appear to be wobbling at the top of the table with Man City on their tails, Manchester United are pushing for a Champions League spot, and the fight for survival is heating up with Tottenham Hotspur sitting in the relegation zone.

United need their best players, including Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo, to hit top form for the final six games of the season.

Bruno Fernandes trolls Bernardo Silva on Instagram

Fernandes and Bernardo Silva are close friends in the Portugal national team, despite sitting on opposite sides of one of the Premier League’s fiercest rivalries.

At United, Fernandes is the captain and talisman. It could be argued that Silva is almost as important to City, being a technically gifted engine.

Both players will be hoping for a successful summer when they represent Portugal at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Silva took to Instagram on Wednesday to promote La Roche-Posay skincare, with an advert that prompted trolling from Fernandes.

Fernandes, who saw irony in Silva’s skincare advert, wrote: “You don’t even use toothpaste.”

The United playmaker has a reputation for trolling fellow members of the Portuguese national team, so it’s not the first or last time he has left a sarcastic comment under one of his teammates’ posts.

Silva’s teammate – for Man City and Portugal – Ruben Dias took a similar approach to Fernandes. He wrote: “You never used a cream.”

How Bernardo Silva fared against Man Utd this season?

There has been speculation over Silva’s future at City as his contract is set to expire in the summer.

Silva played against United twice this season and started both games, recording an assist for his efforts in the first meeting at the Etihad Stadium.

City won the match 3-0, but United got revenge at Old Trafford in January when Michael Carrick stunned Pep Guardiola after becoming head coach.

The Red Devils beat City 2-0 thanks to goals from Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu.
