Enzo Maresca has not returned to management since his departure from Chelsea at the start of 2026, although he has now been approached by a fellow former Chelsea boss about taking a new job.
The Blues paid Maresca over £4m to part ways with him and bring in Liam Rosenior, although results on the pitch have not suggested that the club made the right decision.
John Obi Mikel even believes Chelsea could have won the league with Maresca in charge of the club for longer, with the Italian set to have his pick of clubs to return to the game.

A return to Italy has been rumoured for a while now, with him linked with a move to replace Antonio Conte at Napoli.
However, the latest reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport state that Roma are interested in hiring the former Chelsea manager.

He would be working closely with fellow former Blue Claudio Ranieri, who is currently the senior advisor for the club.
Roma currently sit sixth in the Serie A table, outside of the Champions League places and behind Cesc Fabregas‘ Como.
Maresca played for seven Italian sides during his playing career, however taking over at Roma would see him add a new one to his list.
FINAL: Who do YOU think should be Chelsea manager next season?
Maresca linked with a number of jobs
Success in the Club World Cup and Conference League last season has seen the boss ranked very highly when it comes to available managers.
Maresca has been strongly linked with the Manchester City job if Pep Guardiola leaves at the end of the season after impressing during his previous time working there.
There have also been links with a move back to Juventus going back to when he was still at Chelsea, after spending a number of years there as a player.
Whichever side get their hands on Maresca are going to count themselves lucky, as the Blues continue to regret their own decision at the start of the year.
