Anthony Gordon makes big summer transfer decision amid interest from Liverpool and Arsenal: Reports

Anthony Gordon is reportedly open to leaving Newcastle United in the summer amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

Gordon, who joined Newcastle in 2023, has emerged as a top target for top clubs over the past couple of months. With the 2025/26 season on the verge of winding up, the 25-year-old is looking to compete regularly at the highest level of European football and is reportedly keen to have his future resolved before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to The Telegraph, Gordon has not told Newcastle that he is willing to leave, but the feeling internally at the club is that the winger will explore his options in the summer. The Magpies are said to be aware of interest from England and Europe and are prepared for bids in the upcoming transfer window.

Premier League leaders Arsenal reportedly have a long-standing interest in Gordon, and they discussed him in their recruitment meetings. Similarly, Liverpool were close to signing the England international in 2024 and could rekindle their interest in him.

It is understood that the long-term injury to Hugo Ekitike may force Liverpool to sign another forward in the next transfer window, and Gordon’s ability to play across the front three could hold a fresh appeal.

Adding to the intrigue, Gordon supported the Merseyside outfit during his childhood years, with the report adding that he would not hesitate to make a move to Anfield if the opportunity came.

In addition to Arsenal and Liverpool, Bayern Munich have also identified the winger as their dream candidate to bolster Vincent Komapany’s squad. Reports from Germany have put his valuation between £55-60 million, but Newcastle have scoffed at those figures. While his current market value stands at €60 million, as per Transfermarkt, Newcastle’s current valuation for the player is likely to exceed £80 million.
